Prosecutor Dean Pulling told Swansea Crown Court that David Jones assaulted a woman in Llandybie on Christmas Day in 2023. Mr Pulling said Jones “appeared angry” as he attacked the woman and pushed her onto the sofa. The court heard that later that evening Jones crashed his car whilst drink-driving. Mr Pulling said this drink-driving offence was Jones’ only previous conviction. He added that Jones was now in poor physical health, and that – other than the drink-driving offence – he had not troubled the courts before.
