The UWFRA well called to rescue a woman who had fallen down a steep bank at Bolton Abbey, and shortly thereafter, they were called to help a man at Eshton. In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for the UWFRA said: “A double day for the team. “As soon as the team arrived the casualty was quickly moved on to the stretcher and transported down to the ambulance for onward travel to hospital. “He was on the Pennine Way at Eshton when the 74-year-old had sudden onset back pain rendering him unable to walk. “When the team arrived, the pain had eased lightly enough to enable the team to lift him into the team vehicle for onward travel to his nearby accommodation.
