ALEXANDRIA — The key toward the Alexandria boys soccer team’s approach on the pitch is one of realizing potential success. Alexandria also tightened up the defense on the field, only allowing 12 goals to opposing teams with five shutouts on the season. “They’ve been playing team defense,” said Alexandria assistant coach Cahil Collins following the team’s 1-1 tie over Moorhead on Tuesday, Sept. 30 on behalf of head coach Phil Pham. It’s just trying to keep them focused on the game and not on everything going on around them.”ADVERTISEMENTThe Alexandria boys soccer team celebrates after Patrick Klecker (right) scored a goal in a varsity soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, in Alexandria. “We’ll still focus on the team working for each other on defense, working together,” Collins said.
