Charges upgraded for man charged in sex crimes involving a child in Harrison CountyHARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-Charges have been upgraded for a man who had been charged with sex crimes involving a child. Thirty-six-year-old Kurtis Emmert has now been charged with one felony count of statutory rape and grooming of a child. Emmert had originally been charged with touching a child for lustful purposes. According to Sheriff Matt Haley, Emmert went to the Harrison County Jail on Sunday and told deputies he impregnated a 12-year-old.
