Rene Alonzo Ortega, a resident of the Fresh Pond area, was convicted in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single charge of theft. The case stems from an incident on August 9, 2025, in Burrell Boom Village, when Ortega dishonestly appropriated clothing and cash valued at $172 from his brother. Among the stolen items were a blue jeans short pants, two T-shirts, $50 in coins and a $2 bill.
