Officers were called to a parking lot near Macleod Trail and 53 Avenue SW around 5:30 p.m., after reports that a man had been shot. Just 15 minutes later, a matching vehicle was discovered on fire in the Inglewood area in southeast Calgary. Investigators believe the incident was a targeted shooting, linked to a broader organized crime conflict in the city. “Many of these shootings are targeted, but it’s especially concerning when they occur in public spaces,” said Staff Sgt.
