September 23, 2025RED FM News DeskCalgary fire crews battled a fast-moving blaze in the city’s southeast Monday night that forced dozens of residents from their homes. The fire quickly spread to neighbouring properties, destroying three garages and leaving several homes heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water. Two additional homes sustained moderate damage. Calgary police assisted with crowd control, traffic management and evacuations as crews worked to contain the blaze. During firefighting efforts, crews also discovered a gas leak, prompting additional safety precautions and temporary road closures in the area.
