The Township of Ignace will be holding a youth symposium in November. The Community Engagement Committee says it’s planning a three-day event focusing on the nuclear industry. The Township of Ignace says about 100 students, local educators, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization and the skilled trades industry will be attending. The Nuclear Symposium is being held in conjunction with Skills Ontario. Ignace mayor Kim Baigrie says it’s an excellent chance to explain how the nuclear industry will affect not only their community, but the region.
