Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, has been designated as the inquiry officer and directed to submit a comprehensive report within four weeks. The inquiry was ordered by deputy commissioner Leh on September 26. “Small passenger buses will also be allowed to operate within the district during these hours,” the order stated. The reopening is subject to compliance with Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 (BNSS 2023). The administration has urged strict adherence to safety norms to ensure public order during the easing of restrictions.
