He died on Monday from cancer that was diagnosed just as his film Jimmy and the Demons was being readied for its premiere in June 2025 at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Fortunately, he was able to view the final cut at all four showings and bask in the praise it received.
“The Cathedral” by the sculptor, wood engraver and editorial illustrator James Grashow, is completely carved out of basswood.
Now, a new documentary, Jimmy & the Demons, documents his work.
