The police yesterday destroyed $1b worth of cannabis at what appeared to be a well-tended and organized farm on the Upper Berbice River encompassing 21 acres. A release today from the police said that ranks from the Guyana Police Force’s Narcotics Branch, in collaboration with ranks from Regional Police Division #6, conducted the eradication exercise at Kuyarakuru Creek, Upper Berbice River. The farm contained a combined total of approximately 118,000 cannabis plants ranging from two to seven feet in height. Eight camps and ten drying areas were also discovered, which contained a combined total of 2,500 lbs of dried cannabis. The farm contained the following machinery/equipment:**One tractor** Seven tilling machines** One chainsaw** Two generators** Six weeding machines** Three mistblowers** Sixteen spray cans** Nine water pumpsThe cannabis plants, dried cannabis, camps and drying areas were destroyed by fire.
