Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office:On October 1, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man making criminal threats toward a community member and their family at a residence on Spring Road in Shelter Cove. Hayes then left but returned a short time later, acting aggressively and attempting to lure the victim outside. Deputies then responded to Hayes’ residence, located on the 100 block of Eileen Road in Shelter Cove.
