The alleged assault happened in Commercial Street, Halifax on Saturday, August 23 in the evening. A man is reported to have approached a woman in the street and then "punched her in the fact before walking away", according to a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police. Officers in Calderdale are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area between 6pm and 9pm that night and may have witnessed the reported assault, or have information that may assist police's investigation.
