NFL star Jason Kelce may be one of the biggest names in American sport, but when he arrived in Crusheen to meet with our very own legend, Eddie Lenihan, the acclaimed storyteller took it all in his stride, recalling to us that, “I didn’t know who he was at all”. The former Philadelphia Eagles player, podcaster and soon to be the brother-in-law of Taylor Swift, caused quite a stir when he arrived at Fogarty’s Pub in Crusheen last Friday. However for Eddie it was just another opportunity to regale a rapt audience with tales of the myths and legends of Ireland in his own inimitable style. It wasn’t until later in the evening when Eddie arrived in the local pub and everyone wanted to talk to him about Kelce that he realised just how famous his newest visitor was.
