A 65-year-old hiker from Brooklyn traveling off-trail near the summit of Mount Marcy, the state’s highest peak, called rangers for help on Sept. 24. Rangers and paramedics provided water and electrolytes and brought the ailing hiker to the trailhead to awaiting EMS personnel.
