They hang from the lamp posts, lurk in the bushes, gather on the street corners, and watch from the windows. The scarecrows have invaded the town of Meaford once again, and the townsfolk couldn’t be happier. This Friday evening, the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion parade and festival will descend on the downtown. It’s the big party for the event, which runs from Sept. 5 to Oct. 26 each year. Sykes Street will be closed from Bayfield Street to Berry Street including all streets along the parade route from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
