Estyn inspectors visited St David's High School in Saltney, Flintshire, in May this year. But this week the Governing Body of the school released a stinging rebuke of Flintshire Council, the local education authority. This came to a head after the school was placed into special measures and Flintshire Council started a consultation to remove the Governing Body. A Flintshire County Council spokesperson said: “As a council, we wish all our Flintshire pupils to get the best education possible. “St David’s High School has recently been inspected by Estyn, an independent body, and has been placed in the category of Special Measures.
