Wingfield-West, formerly of Anglesey, pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a child under 13 at an earlier hearing. Today a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court sentenced him to two years and eight months in a young offenders' institution for each offence. When police became involved the defendant told the girl to delete a messaging app, the court heard. The barrister also claimed that whilst his victim had been too young to consent it had been "sex by agreement".
