Coronation Street has confirmed Evelyn Plummer's future after it looked as though she might quit university to return to the cobbles. Evelyn actor Maureen Lipman left the show as a full-time cast member earlier this year after her character was accepted onto a university course. Later, Roy Cropper let slip to Fiz how much Evelyn had been enjoying her course, saying: "University has fulfilled her in ways which even she has found surprising."
