Nicholas Guy Coverdale, 76, entered guilty pleas to the following charges when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court:· Making 39 category A indecent images of a child (the most serious category of child abuse images)· Making 64 category B indecent images of a child· Making 632 category C indecent images of a childPamela Fee, prosecuting, said there were a number of images across different devices and some of the children shown were ‘particularly young’. Some of the images were of children aged between three and four, and others were aged between five and six, and seven and eight, the court was told. The images were being stored across three different devices, including USBs. Ms Fee said the matter was not suitable for sentencing in the magistrates’ court. Coverdale, of Hillcrest Avenue, Whitehaven, will be sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on October 20.
