The incident was reported at around 9.10pm, with Cumbria Police confirming the A592 is closed in both directions between Kirkstone Pass Inn and Townhead Pass, while investigation works are carried out. The closure was still in place as of 8am on Tuesday morning. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes, as there is currently no confirmed time for the road to reopen.
