The road through Dalston will be closed within the next few hours due to the mains burst, located adjacent to ongoing mains replacement works. United Utilities’ repair team and grab vehicle will be working overnight to carry out the necessary repairs, with a reinstating team scheduled to be on site tomorrow morning. A signed diversion route will be displayed on site for road users. A spokesperson for Cumberland Council said: "We anticipate the road will be reopened by mid-morning to lunchtime tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these essential works are carried out."
