Steven Baker, executive director of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field, resigned Tuesday, and the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission accepted his resignation. Baker was named the executive director in June of last year, a few months after the former director, Bryan Malinowski, died from injuries sustained in a shootout with federal agents. Baker was already on paid administrative leave after a disagreement earlier this month with the commission’s chair, Patrick Schueck, over changes the Trump administration is requiring for airports that accept federal grant money, as the Arkansas Democrat Gazette explained. David Tipton, the airport’s director of finance, was named interim executive director. The commission voted to increase Tipton’s salary 7% while he serves in his interim role.
