Midway through the first quarter of Friday's road football match, Doniphan sophomore Alex Jones threw a pass to senior Jaykob Putman from the 47-yard line as Putman ran it into the endzone putting the Dons up 6-0. "It's nice getting a win, especially after winning two in a row," said Dons head football coach Nathan Hampton. With one second remaining in the half, Jones found Putman once again, this time for a shovel pass, who ran it in for another touchdown. Jones added the extra point making it a 38-14 Dons lead at halftime. Approaching the 8-minute mark of the fourth quarter, the Dons were on a 4th and goal when Alfonso ran the ball in from the 1-yard line expanding the Dons lead to 50-14.
