The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a person they believe shot a man just a block off the city’s namesake thoroughfare last weekend. There, they found an adult male who had been shot in the lower abdomen with what a VCSO spokesperson said were non-life-threatening injuries. During the course of their investigation, detectives determined that an altercation had occurred between the shooter and multiple people. Investigators identified 32-year old Demetrius Baccellia of Long Beach as the shooter, who turned himself in Sept. 16 at the Thousand Oaks Police Station. Baccellia was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, where he remained this week in lieue of $460,000 bail.
