A man accused of breaking into two area homes last month pleaded not guilty last week in Ventura County Superior Court. Detectives didn’t initially have a suspect, however, during the course of their investigation, they came to the belief that Pruitt was responsible. On Sept. 5, they traveled to Victorville and arrested Pruitt, who they learned was currently on state parole for burglary. As a reminder, the sheriff’s office said, residential burglars tend to target unoccupied residences that back open spaces such as hiking trails and golf courses. Alarm systems should consist of door sensors, window sensors, and glass break sensors for all windows and doors on the first and second floors of the house.
