A Thousand Oaks man is out of jail on his own recognizance after being arrested on suspicion of recording people in a fitting room at the Newbury Park Target store.
Jack Crawford, 25, was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged by the Ventura County District Attorney’s office the same day with eight counts of secretly viewing someone in a private area using a device.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office became aware of the alleged crime after a woman in the Target fitting room noticed a cell phone over one of the walls of the room and reported it.
Detectives with the sheriff’s sexual assault unit reviewed store surveillance video footage and identified the peeping Tom as Crawford.
Due to the nature of the alleged crime, the sheriff’s office said it believes there may be additional victims or witnesses and it encourages anyone with information to contact Detective Nicole Adrianzen at (805) 494-8229 or Nicole.adrianzen@venturacounty.gov.
