The owner of Moorpark’s Tierra Rejada Farm was overwhelmed by the number of people pouring onto his property Monday evening to pay respects to Charlie Kirk at a vigil organized by the Ventura County Republican Party. It was at one of these events on a Utah university campus where Kirk was gunned down Sept. 10. Among those addressing mourners were Ventura County Republican Party Chair Richard Lucas, who opened the program and Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff, who spoke, among other things, about hate slung online. Kirk called Godspeak his church for a few years, but he claimed McCoy as his pastor until his death. A funeral for Kirk has been set for Sept. 21 at State Farm Stadium in Kirk’s home state of Arizona.
