Governments urged to boost funding and take greater control of immunisation schemesCountries must take greater responsibility for funding and managing their immunisation programmes, the World Health Organization’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (Sage) has warned. The expert group said political instability, shrinking health budgets and shifting priorities are putting a strain on vaccination programmes and partnerships. At the same time, a “trust crisis” is undermining confidence in vaccines and slowing uptake.
