Students and faculty reflect on the re-opening of Garland Hall

After over two years of construction, Garland Hall officially reopened for the Fall 2025 semester.
Garland Hall was originally built in 1928, and Vanderbilt sought to maintain the historical core of the building while modernizing it.
Moreover, Garland Hall achieved a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold certification.
The architectural design of the renovated Garland Hall showcases a unique blend of historical and modern components.
It is not just students who are making use of the various shared spaces that are unique to the new Garland Hall.
