Tim Wyatt is an interesting and often astute commentator on things Church of England. Actually it’s Jesus, that’s the head of the church, not the Archbishop for Canterbury. The main missing bit is that the Church of England actually has a very well developed and settled position on marriage and sexuality. I would like to end where I began: the way the debate about the next ABC is framed. I have to say that, neither in the local church, nor in Synod, nor even in the (ironically apostrophised) Archbishops’ Council, have we actually missed having an archbishop.
