Sixty-five young leaders from across the United States gathered in Chicago for the second annual Allstate Foundation National Youth Service Summit. The summit offered programming focused on personal development, collaboration with peers and mentors, and strategies to expand their social initiatives. Juan Zarco, a student at the University of Illinois Chicago and chief technology officer at Youth Technology Corps, commented on his experience: “Attending the Summit was an inspiring experience. Its programs aim to empower youth leadership, support disaster relief efforts, promote volunteerism through matching grants, address relationship abuse prevention, increase access to living-wage careers, and build nonprofit leadership capacity.
