Chipmaker AMD has introduced the EPYC Embedded 4005 Series processors, designed for use in network security appliances and entry-level industrial edge servers that require real-time computing capabilities.
The EPYC Embedded 4005 line offers a configurable thermal design power (TDP) range of 65 to 170 watts, providing flexibility for embedded applications including next-generation firewalls.
The processors include reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features such as DRAM error correction, on-chip ECC/parity, and PCIe error detection.
For integration, the EPYC Embedded 4005 uses the AM5 socket, consistent with other EPYC generations.
The processors also include AMD Infinity Guard security technologies to help protect data.
