Mississippi took the prize as the fattest state, while Hawaii has the least amount of obese and overweight people, according to a study released Wednesday by the personal finance website WalletHub. The study ranked states based on the rates of overweight and obese residents and behavioral measures like inactivity, cholesterol and hypertension levels, vegetable intake and diabetes. The majority of fat states are centered in the South, while Western states are, for the most part, in the healthy range.
