In a significant move to improve access to quality public education in India, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by PM Modi, has approved the establishment of 57 New Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under the civil sector.
The financial support amounts to ₹5,862.55 crore, that allocated over nine years starting from 2026.
This expansion aims to meet the educational needs of children of Central Government employees, particularly in underserved and challenging regions.
Balvatikas Introduced for the First Time in New Kendriya VidyalayasThese 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas will include Balvatikas, which are pre-primary classes that form a three-year foundational stage.
