Piasecki Aircraft has revealed it is developing a new larger-capacity version of the Kargo UAV autonomous aerial vehicle.
Piasecki said the new aircraft — known as the Kargo II — will deliver two to three times the payload capacity of the Kargo UAV, from about 500 to 800 lb.
“Kargo II reflects Piasecki’s commitment to rapidly advancing autonomous vertical lift capabilities,” said John Piasecki, CEO of Piasecki Aircraft Corporation.
“Kargo II is a direct response to operator feedback, validated use cases, and real-world mission needs,” said Romin Dasmalchi, director of cargo UAS programs at Piasecki.
The Kargo II will initially be manufactured at Piasecki’s Heliplex facility in Coatesville, with additional program partners set to be announced in the coming months.
