KBI begins statewide marijuana enforcement effort

When you hear of statewide enforcement efforts, you may automatically think of the holiday-based DUI work done at the local and state levels.
But the Kansas Bureau of Investigation has launched an enforcement campaign aimed at marijuana.
KBI Director Tony Mattivi and Attorney General Kris Kobach say KBI agents are searching for marijuana plants, THC vape cartridges and other items that may have illegal concentrations of tetrahydocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana.
Once investigations conclude, the KBI will turn over its information to prosecutors, who will then make decisions on whether to charge those allegedly involved.
At this time, there is no word on whether this enforcement effort has taken place in Lyon or surrounding counties.
