The Eighth Judicial District-North Prosecuting Attorney has determined that the use of force by two Arkansas State Police (ASP) Troopers was justified in connection with the apprehension of Daniel Wallace, 35, of Rosston, on July 22, 2025. The incident began shortly after 5 p.m. when the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) responded to a shooting at a residence on Arkansas Highway 200 in the Morris community. A pursuit followed northbound on U.S. Highway 371, during which Wallace fired multiple rounds at law enforcement officers. Troopers returned fire near Willisville, injuring Wallace and forcing his vehicle off the highway, where it struck a tree. He was airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock for medical treatment and later transferred to the Nevada County Detention Center.
