The Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, is hosting a colourful celebration on October 26. The Diwali festival, the Hindu festival of lights, generally lasts five or six days and involves traditions such as lighting candles, prayers and preparing of special foods. As a community festival, the event on the last Sunday of this month will include performances, arts and crafts, as well as a disco.
