Gavin Stacey, 45, sent the messages in 2023 after he and his wife separated and he later posted pictures of her on social media saying she was “damaged goods”. Natalie Roberts, prosecuting, said Stacey started sending the messages in January 2023 after he left the family home in Elmstead Market. Caroline Woodley, mitigating, said Stacey was suffering from a serious mental health breakdown and cannot remember sending the messages. She said: “He doesn’t specifically recall sending the messages – he accepts they came from his device. A restraining order was imposed preventing him from contacting his estranged wife for 12 months or attending her address in Elmstead Market.
