When she climbed in through a window, Glanville then bent her phone in half and smashed an Alexa device, preventing her from calling the police before he slapped her while she tried to protect the couple’s young baby, Chelmsford Crown Court heard.
Charlotte Bull, prosecuting, said: “He dragged her around the living room by her hair and pushed her head into the floor.
The two-hour assault only came to an end when the victim screamed from a window and a neighbour called the police.
Glanville, of Beehive Avenue, Silver End, Witham, admitted two charges of criminal damage and one charge of actual bodily harm.
“It is only by providence that the child was not injured in the assault,” he added.
