Police were called to the scene of a serious collision in Mersea Road, Langenhoe, at 5.40am on Tuesday. Police, paramedics and an air ambulance attended shortly afterwards and the road was closed for several hours while the police investigated the incident. The pedestrian was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a critical condition. A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “One ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic car and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Mersea Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning following reports of a road traffic collision. “One patient was transported to Addenbrooke's Hospital by road ambulance in a critical condition.”A spokesperson for Essex Police said anyone who has any information about the incident should call 101 and cite incident 127 of September 30.
