Members of the public were asked to put themselves forward for the groups across East Lothian. Nineteen of those groups, which stretch from Musselburgh and Inveresk to East Lammermuir, recruited enough members to carry on without the need for an election. However, in Dunbar, 14 people put their name forward for the 12 spaces on offer. Now, an election will take place in the Bleachingfield Centre from noon to 7pm to whittle down the names to a successful dozen. The count will take place the day after the election, with the new-look group set to meet for the first time on October 20.
