Photo credit: NewFabrika/ShutterstockUnion highlights delays and staff overloadThe Independent and Civil Servants’ Union (CSIF) has raised serious concerns over a growing backlog at the Orihuela mail distribution unit, where more than 13,000 items remain undelivered.
According to the union, the bottleneck is causing widespread delays for residents and disrupting local businesses that rely on the postal service to send products, documents, and important correspondence.
By implementing these measures, the union believes the Orihuela unit could begin to clear the backlog while safeguarding the health and efficiency of its employees.
Residents have voiced growing concern that the continued accumulation of mail may erode confidence in the postal service and highlight the urgent need for corrective action.
Awaiting response from CorreosAt present, Correos has not issued an official response to CSIF’s warning, leaving thousands of items delayed at the Orihuela distribution centre.
