Smoke was seen billowing from St John's Church in Broad Street, Harleston, at 3.40pm on Wednesday. The road was closed to allow for six fire appliances, an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier to attend. One person who witnessed the fire said: "I’ve never seen smoke like it. An investigation into the fire will start today, but Norfolk Constabulary has confirmed the incident is not being treated as arson.
