McDonald's then appealed the decision, which the government's Planning Inspectorate upheld, allowing the business to add its 11th branch to the city. The global chain is now awaiting a second decision from City Hall over a licensing application, which could see the drive-through near Mousehold Heath operating at all hours. Neighbours living on Plaford Road, next to the restaurant, said they fear allowing the drive-through to operate 24/7 will lead to increased noise and anti-social behaviour.
