Defending champions Gotham FC are celebrating getting through to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF W Champions Cup for the second successive season. “We are the reigning champions of this competition,” said Gotham FC coach Juan Carlos Amorós. They have seven points in the group stage, and if they win their remaining match – against Monterrey – would top the group. The CONCACAF W Champions Cup operates across North America, Central America and the Caribbean to determine the best women’s team in the region – like the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Washington Spirit and Gotham FC are joined in Group B by Monterrey, Vancouver Rise Academy, and Alianza Women.
