Minister Commits to Gorey Ambulance Base
['Siobhan Murphy']
South East Radio
Fine Gael TD for North Wexford South Wicklow, Brian Brennan, has received confirmation from the Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, that the government is fully committed to progressing the Gorey Ambulance Base project.
Brennan had previously raised concerns over the lack of infrastructure in the rapidly growing town of Gorey, particularly regarding the critical need for an ambulance base to support local services.
Currently, the Gorey Ambulance Crew is operating from prefabricated structures, which Brennan described as “simply unacceptable.”Earlier this week, Brennan met with representatives from the National Ambulance Service at their base in Wexford Hospital to discuss key issues, including the need for more resources and improvements to the service.
He also raised concerns about the long-awaited Primary Health Care Centre in Gorey, which is currently seeking tenders.
The Minister’s commitment to providing a permanent ambulance base for Gorey marks an important step toward addressing the growing healthcare needs of the community.
