On both days there was plenty of joy with singing, dancing and laughter as everyone helped her mark an astonishing birthday. Her birthday greeting from the King was presented by Peter McCarthy, the Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire. We had a family party at the Royal West Boat Club. She loved her party, and to have the Lord Lieutenant Peter McCarthy there was very special. Bill served as captain and racing secretary of the Victoria Cycle Club, while Rose also had a spell as the club's secretary.
