The group is part of the UK charity Rambler’s, Britain’s walking charity, and their members lead a walk every Sunday throughout the year as well as evenings in the summer.
Within the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Active Travel is also being encouraged to promote physical and mental health.
Active travel is a way of travelling which uses physically active ways of travelling such as walking, cycling, using a wheelchair or walking to or from a bus stop.
Active travel is also better for the environment and reduces congestion on our roads.
I am pleased to learn that active travel routes are being planned for people to travel safely within the Vale such as between Dinas Powys and Barry, as well as from Weycock’s Cross to Cardiff Airport.
